Patience Ewurama Ocran

Patience Ewurama Ocran brings over 13 years of Architectural practice, specializing in Project Management, design, construction and business development. Before co-founding The Architecture Alliance, she led several management and design projects, developing a reputation for quality delivery and effective problem-solving skills.

As a graduate of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, she holds a BSc and PGDip in Architecture. She also holds a Professional Management Professional (PMP) Certificate from the Project Management Institute (PMI) and is currently pursuing an MSc in Spatial Planning and Real Estate Development at Heriot Watt University, Scotland.

Patience is a chartered Architect and a Council member of the Ghana Institute of Architects (GIA). In 2014, she was awarded the 2nd best position in the Professional Practice Exam.

  • Beyond practice, she is passionate about philanthropy and is a co-founder/director at The Lys Foundation, which is an NGO committed to providing education and seeing to the general welfare of the underprivileged in Ghana.
  • She is also the External Director for the Institute of Sustainable Design and Construction Management (ISCDCMG).
  • As a co-founder of The Architecture Alliance, Patience is dedicated to driving sustainable transformation in both architectural practice and the built environment in Ghana, with the goal of contributing to the nation’s development.

Barbie Eghan-Yartel

Barbie Eghan-Yartel is a chartered architect with over a decade of experience in the design and construction industry. She currently serves as Membership Director at the Institute for Sustainable Design and Construction Management- Ghana (ISDCM-G), where she leads strategies to engage professionals committed to sustainable development in the built environment.

Barbie Eghan-Yartel is a chartered architect with over a decade of experience in the design and construction industry. She currently serves as Membership Director at the Institute for Sustainable Design and Construction Management- Ghana (ISDCM-G), where she leads strategies to engage professionals committed to sustainable development in the built environment.Barbie also serves as Executive Coordinator for The Lys Foundation, a nonprofit promoting social impact and community development. She has contributed pro bono consultancy and supervision to Holy Child School legacy projects, supporting infrastructure improvements for the 1993/95, 1996, and 2000 year groups.

She currently works as an Architect at the Directorate of Physical Development and Estate Management (DPDEM), University of Cape Coast (UCC), contributing to the planning and execution of institutional development projects.

Barbie holds Bachelor's and Postgraduate degrees in Architecture from KNUST, and is a member of the Ghana Institute of Architects.

Committed to innovation, collaboration, and community service, she continues to play a leading role in advancing sustainable, inclusive design practices across Ghana.

Charles Amissah

Charles Amissah-Koomson

Charles Amissah-Koomson brings over 12 years of architectural practice, specializing in residential, commercial, and institutional design. Before co-founding Architecture Alliance, he served as lead architect on several landmark projects across Ghana, developing a reputation for context-driven and innovative design solutions.

As an architecture graduate of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, his interests in law inspired him to pursue a Master of Business Engineering in International Construction Law and Practice from the University of Stuttgart in Germany. Charles is an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He is currently pursuing a law degree at the University of Professional Studies, Accra. He is also a founding member of the Institute of Sustainable Design and Construction Management-Ghana, another body, which was established to promote sustainable practices in the construction industry of Ghana.

He has recently been honoured in the Forty Under 40 Awards in Architecture & Design, recognizing his contribution to contemporary architectural discourse and practice.

  • His design philosophy emphasizes creating human-centered spaces that reflect cultural identity while embracing modern functionality. Notable works include projects in education, housing, and mixed-use developments.
  • Beyond practice, Charles is passionate about mentoring young architects and frequently contributes to conversations on architectural innovation, collaboration, and sustainability.
  • As a co-founder of Architecture Alliance, he is dedicated to fostering a platform that unites architects in shaping purposeful, impactful, and sustainable architecture
Ebenezer Incoom

Ebenezer Incoom

Ebenezer is a trained architect with extensive experience across architecture, real estate development, and construction industry engagement. He is the Founder of Haustalks, a knowledge and networking platform that brings together professionals from all facets of the construction ecosystem to foster collaboration, innovation, and professional growth.

As the Managing Director of Krafthaus, a multidisciplinary design and development firm, he leads teams that deliver projects defined by functional excellence and enduring aesthetic value. His architectural philosophy centres on “design for creativity” — a belief that architecture should not only solve problems but also inspire new ways of thinking, living, and creating.

Through his work with the Architecture Alliance, he remains committed to advancing architectural practice, promoting ethical standards, and strengthening the role of architects in shaping sustainable and inclusive built environments.

MATILDA EMEFA OCLOO-AWUMEY

Co-Founder, Director & Administration

MATILDA EMEFA OCLOO-AWUMEY

Matilda Emefa Ocloo-Awumey is a chartered architect and construction management professional dedicated to functional, sustainable, and human-centered design. She holds Bachelor’s and Postgraduate Degrees in Architecture and an MSc in Construction Management, all from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

With over a decade of experience, Matilda has shaped Ghana’s built environment through residential, commercial, and institutional projects. Guided by her philosophy “form follows function,” she designs with purpose—ensuring that every space serves people and context effectively.

As a Senior Architect at Architectural & Engineering Services Limited (AESL), Ho, she worked on key projects such as the Office Complex for the Community Water and Sanitation Agency and the Auditorium Complex remodification for the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS).
Now an Assistant Development Officer at Ho Technical University (HTU), she continues to align creative design with institutional development, leading projects like the Theatre and X-Ray Blocks for the University Clinic.

Matilda also co-founded SiMef Gold Limited, a design-and-build firm delivering projects across Ghana and mentoring young professionals—over twenty architectural interns to date. Through the Alliance, she advocates for innovative practice that serves society and empowers emerging architects.
A member of the Ghana Institute of Architects (GIA) and a part-time lecturer at HTU’s Department of Architecture and Real Estate Management, Matilda bridges academic theory with real-world application. Beyond her profession, she is an active Rotarian, extending her commitment to service through community and humanitarian initiatives.

Her work reflects a belief in architecture as both an art and a social responsibility—driving empowerment, dignity, and sustainable progress.

EDITH ASMAH

Edith ASMAH is a results-driven professional with a robust foundation in architecture and extensive experience in consulting project management and business development. With a passion for creating innovative design solutions, she has successfully led multidisciplinary teams in delivering high-impact projects across various sectors, including commercial, residential, and public infrastructure. Her unique blend of architectural expertise and strategic business acumen enables her to drive growth, enhance operational efficiency, and foster collaborative environments.

Edith fascination in Interior Architecture propelled her into construction and the curation of furnishings and decorative pieces. Her versatility in architecture has caused her not only to practice traditional architecture but to delve into the built environment in its entity.

She’s a strong advocate for being “The Change; a project at Time”. CSR projects is at the heart of her practice; Project lead/Coordinator for the Wesley Girls High School Resource Centre Legacy Project (73,83,93 lead by 2003), Lead Consultant Project Manager on Nsawam Female Prisons Nursery for inmates amongst others.

She currently works as an Architect Project Manager and Business Development Lead at Ecobuild Consult and as a Consultant PM at Crenatives Ltd, committed to leveraging her architectural background and project management expertise to drive successful outcomes for stakeholders.

Edith holds a Bachelor’s and Postgraduate degrees in KNUST, a Masters degree in Project Management in AAPM and a member of the Ghana Institute of Architects. Edith’s drive for innovative solutions and unique strategies continues to shape her professional practice across the continent
